Another vote for the Bose phones. I love mine, and use them in contests and
on planes. They're as
light and comfortable as anything I've ever used, including my old Beyers,
and the NR works amazingly
well. With the fans in 2 rigs, 2 amps, and a PC all running, I hear none of
them. And I find I can actually sleep
on long-haul flights now.

I had a bit of RFI, which a toroid cured easily.

Previously, I bought a cheapo pair (not earmuff-type) of NR headphones from
an ad in the back of QST for $75. They don't
work very well at all and are very uncomfortable.

If you consider foam pads a $6 a pair expensive, stop reading now. The Bose
phones cost $300. There's a version
for pilots with a mike attached, but it's $1000, which is too much, and I
only operate CW at home anyway.

I got mine as a birthday present last year, after mentioning them a couple
of times while working up the nerve to
tell Mrs. DG that I was planning to spend $300 for a pair of headphones. She
beat me to the punch.
