The problem with most aviation sets is that they use electret mikes that 
require a bias voltage from the radio (or an external box to interface 
it), but you could probably drop a Heil element into a lot of these with 
little trouble.  They also say "aviation" on them which means the price 
doubles (or triples)...
Here's an interesting one from David Clark...probably expensive and might 
be too much for amateur radio but it's stereo and NR and supposedly 
lightweight and comfortable...and they have a 30 day return as well. Sells 
for $700...

They offer a 30-day free trial, and I have no idea if they track the 
contest calendar. A flurry of free trials beginning the end of October and 
a lot of returns at the end of November might be suspicious...
