[CQ-Contest] Logging Program Question

Ray,
I have found the following to be the simplest solution to all
my ham radio needs and especially for those of us who used LogPlus.
I do everything using 3 programs but it's simple.
The first thing you want to do is install a program called BV.
I use BV6 http://www.qsl.net/df3cb/bv.html for all my qsl'ing needs
and I print directly to my cards. No more messing around with labels.
You can print to labels if you prefer. BV7 is available but BV6 works
great for me and I don't believe in fixing what isn't broken. I think
the GREATEST feature of BV is the file conversion function. You can
convert your LogPlus files to an ADIF file, a BV file, etc. There are
many conversion options. EVERYONE should be using this program even if
only for this feature. You can even take a Sweepstakes log and tell
the program to remove the exchange from the log and replace the
exchange with 59/599! How slick is that?! This is what I do before I
import my Sweepstakes log into Logger or BV. There is also a mailing
list for the BV program ( bv6 at yahoogroups.com) but there is not too
much activity on it. I guess people aren't having problems. Oh, the BV
program is free!
	I use Logger ( http://www.qsl.net/kc4elo/logger.htm ) for ALL
logging and award tracking. I love it and it's free. I'm not a rag
chewer. I chase dx and operate contests ( CW, RTTY, SSB). So for
chasing dx I use Logger. Before I operate a contest I create an .ADIF
file from Logger for all activity since the last contest ( you can
create and ADIF file by dates in Logger) and import it into BV6. When
operating a contest I use Writelog for the 3 modes. After the contest
I make WL create an ADIF file and I import it into Logger AND BV6. So
all logs go to Logger and all qsl activity is done from BV. It's
really slick!
One more tip! Whenever you have a screwed up contest file and
you want to make a correction to all or some of the qso's at the same
time ( i.e the wrong date) without typing a lot, use the Programmer's
File Editor. This has saved my ass on a few occassions. It's not
supported anymore but it works just great and can be downloaded at :
http://www.lancs.ac.uk/people/cpaap/pfe/ It's free also!

	Good luck & 73,
