[CQ-Contest] Oh well, there's always next year...

Hmmm. Interesting. 10 PM opening? On Sunday? Wouldn't that have been,
oh, 0300 Z after the contest ended?

It is unfortunate that my schedule only permitted me to operate Sunday
morning and afternoon (EST), and that conditions were far from ideal. So it
goes. No point in dwelling on it, but 'tis a shame that some can't resist
the opportunity for a put down.

Well there's the typical 'East Coast' mentality at its best. If you can't
work Europe the contest is a 'bust'. How about those 2 unique band openings
after 10 PM east coast time. Between late Fri & Sat nite I worked at least
15 Pennsylvania stations. At least 75 of my contest QSO's were made after 10
PM east coast time. Out here at the Left-Coast, Ron, we've learned to make
lemonade out of lemons instead of sour grapes.

Was it my imagination, or were conditions downright terrible today (Sunday)
in the contest? If 10 was open to EU for more than about an hour or so
today, I'd be downright surprised... Wish now my boss had given me
yesterday instead of today off, sounded (from what I overheard this
afternoon) that condx were much better on Saturday. Of course, having a
snowstorm dumping 7" all morning around here didn't help!

Thanks to all who managed to pull my signal out today. Special thanks to
Bill W3WH who was not only kind enough to loan me his shack for the day
(even if I gave up in order to drive home before the slush turned to ice),
but let me once again play with his Orion while doing so. (I know what I
want under the tree. I'm not going to get one, mind you, but you never
know... <g>)
