What I have noticed the settings mainly affect more or less the file size only. The audio quality depends on how the connections are made. I take the audio from the headphones output using a Y-connector to split the audio to the headphones and the PC. I'm superimposing the channels into one line for the PC through two 0.01u caps.
Can't recall the actual settings (my ham-computer is boxed up for a move) but with my settings 1 hour generates an 8Mb file and the quality is more than decent.

Subject: [CQ-Contest] Rec-All or Rec-All Pro
I'm trying to set up Rec-All to record the upcoming ARRL CW contest, and am
having trouble getting good audio in the recording. I have tried both the
headphone jack and the External Audio jack on the Mark 5, and am
dissatisfied with results with both. Anyone out there using this software
who can give me advice on which CODEC to use, scan rate, and other settings?
