SDI is freeware and you can download the latest version
from http://www.ei5di.com/sd/sdi.zip. Setup information
is included, and the IOTA island references are up-to-date
thanks to G3KMA, http://www.eo19.dial.pipex.com.

SDI is a DOS program and it's intended for SO unassisted
entries. It works under DOS and all versions of Windows.
However, it requires expanded memory support and this is
not always possible on some PCs.

SDI is the only contest logger dedicated to IOTA, and has
been updated and enhanced each year since the first IOTA
contest in 1993. That's why it has relevant features not
seen elsewhere.

For example, as you type callsign prefixes, you get an
automatic list of the corresponding worked and wanted IOTA
references (if any) for the current band and mode - by
country and by call area. As you enter the calls of island
stations logged on another band or mode, you get an
automatic band/mode analysis for the corresponding IOTA
reference - there's no need to touch any other key. Another
way to get this information is to type the IOTA reference
in the callsign field. To see multiplier opportunities for
mainland UK, simply enter EU5 in the callsign field. Then,
Esc or minus clears the callsign and leaves the analysis
on view.

After the contest, use SDICHECK (included) to specify your
entry category and prepare your Cabrillo format .LOG file.
Re-name it to YOURCALL.LOG (the call you used) and email
it, as an attached file, to iota.logs at rsgb.org.uk. Include
your contest callsign in the Subject line of your email.

The SD-User mailing list is available to anyone who needs
help with SDI. You can subscribe at

Paul EI5DI
