[CQ-Contest] RE: Contesting from the basement

I have the MFJ banana plug "power strips" connected to my rather hefty 12v
Astron supply. Main HF rigs use 120 VAC. All of my 12v accessories have
banana plugs for the power stip connections. If I was doing it again, I'd
probably go with the Anderson powerpole connections and those RigRunner
strips, but the banana plugs work well (and they're cheap!).

BTW: I wholeheartedly agree with NC1N's advice about getting a radon test
for the basement. My basement had a high radon count and needed a vacuum
pump installed before we bought the house. This was never an issue when I
grew up, but it is now. Newer homes are too tight to vent the gas. I guess
the old places were so drafty it wasn't a problem. Then again, maybe people
were dying a lot and nobody knew why! We also tend to make more use of
basements today.
