[CQ-Contest] self spotting abuses in WPX CW

The prevalence of cheating in ham radio contesting still baffles me,
given that there is no tangible gain for "winners"--merely bragging
rights! But maybe there is some correlation between those who bend the
rules and those who wear their contesting expertise on their sleeves.
Having said that, I know there is a strong anti-spotting element in the
hobby. I'm still in the first year of my second hamlife after a 40-year
gap, enjoy contesting and improving my "ears" and operating skill, and I
operate SOLP Assisted with a single multiband wire. I suffer no
embarrassment nor lack of self-confidence while using the cluster, and
personally I find taking advantage of spots no more akin to an operating
crutch than (and absolutely no disrespect to the K1TTT's and KC1XX's of
the hobby) using an antenna farm with multiple 200ft towers and dozens
of stacks with legal limit power on all bands. It's a hobby...

Excellent work, David.

One more general comment. I do hope that this information gets back to
the stations involved. Please pass the information along, copy and
publish it on web sites or paper publications as you feel fit, or
whatever you think will get the word out. Busting a couple cheaters is
one thing, this is meant to point out to everyone that cheating is
getting harder and that contesters are trying to police themselves in
the best amateur way.
