[CQ-Contest] On Line Logs

Several years ago, I received a paper QSL in the mail before I
submitted my contest log. It turned out to be a busted call. I made
no changes to my log, though the opportunity was clearly there.
Bottom line,
1. If someone wants to cheat they probably can find a way (in
addition to massaging the log). A number of contesters (myself
included) record the contest. Why? I'm sure some go back and listen
to it all to find errors before log submission. Personally, I save
it for after the UBNs are released, and then I listen to the lost
QSOs. It's very educational!
2. As has already been stated, 30 days is way too long for log
submission, now that 90% of logs are emailed. I propose that logs
considered for competition be required to be emailed within 48 hours
of the end of the contest, except for DXpeditions which should be
allowed 1 week.
