Before you blame the pin diode, TWO things.. First, check the SQUELCH control position. Second, check the receiver lightening arrestor CCT. I had mine go on the 850 that I owned in 1997, same symptoms-no RX sensitivity, and it was a simple fix. My 850 RX went during the winter... no storms... VERY weird! J. VY1JA
