Just use a hack-saw (with new 18tooth blade), and then some sandpaper to
clean up the edges.

Acrylic breaks down in UV and also reacts badly with hydrocarbons (ie
spraypaint, fly spay etc).  Have a look at Lexan which is glass subsitute, a
hacksaw will work, but better to have it professionally cut and drilled to
the size you want. You can get it usual glass thicknesses, 3, 5 ,6,10,12mm
++ (or imperial equivants).  I've had good success with fibreglass
reinforced ABS with UV retardent which can be bought, but it is 3 to 4 time
the price you'd expect (similar to the black plastic covering finish used in
engine bays of say late model audi's and benz's).
