I received a dozen replies to my inquiry about who to
entrust FT-1000MP repairs to.

Paul Hansen W6XA (now in South Carolina) and Burghardt
Radio in South Dakaota both received several 
recommendations. 

Two had good recent experiences with Yaesu warrenty 
service.

Lou De Beers ND6W, got one recommendation.
