Hello contesters!
Here's a reminder about a great contest that is only a month away! Be
sure to check your calendars and get permission from the spouse for:
2003 CALIFORNIA QSO PARTY
1600Z October 4, 2003 until 2200Z October 5, 2003
All California QSO Party rules, results, county abbreviations, and free
logging software are available at:
http://www.cqp.org
This year's California QSO Party promises to be a lot of fun!
There is an exciting change in the Multi-Single rules this year. M/S
stations no longer have to stay on a band or mode for 10 minutes! They
are now able to change bands and modes as frequently as desired, just
like Single-Ops. The one restriction for M/S stations is that in a
given 10 minute period, only one of the operators can be the
transmitting operator. The other operators can listen, spot stations on
another radio, help log, or just relax. At the end of a 10 minute
period, the transmitting operator can be changed, if desired. The
intent of the rules change is to make M/S more fun by permitting
unlimited band changes, but continue to prevent an octopus Multi station.
Don't forget about all the awards available in CQP:
   * 34 Plaques
   * 40 Bottles of special vintage California wine
   * Certificates to the top S/O in every state, province, country, and
CA county
   * Certificates to everyone who makes at least 100 QSOs in CQP
   * CQP T-shirts available for purchase if you make at least 100 QSOs
in the contest
Join us on all the fun! We hope to hear all of you on October 4-5 for
the California QSO Party!
