On all my Alphas, I used a BNC Chassis Mount ( Screw with nut type)
as the existing hole easily accomodated most BNC chassis mount connectors
that are
just mounted using a nut. I was able to remove and replace the existing
phono connector without removing the PC board that is presently
on then inside of the chassis. Getting the nut started can be bit tricky
but is doable with a lond needle nose plier or large tweezer if you
don't want to have to removethe PC Board.
Using this type of connector and a UG-255 adapter if your input
cable
has a PL-259 on it eliminates the need to drill any holes in the back of
the chassis
for resale value preservation.
