Nat,
I believe the official information is at
http://www.arrl.org/contests/vev0vy.html (for US and Canada - all other
countries are listed in
http://www.arrl.org/contests/announcements/prefixtable.html).
According to this, the boundary between zones 6 and 7 is the 110 deg. W
longitude line, except that all of Wyoming is in Zone 7. The boundary
between zones 7 and 8 is the 90 deg. W longitude line with no exceptions.
In terms of Maidenhead grid squares, then, all US locations in CM & CN
would be in zone 6. US locations in DM and DN with a first digit from 0 to
4 (DN0x, DN1x, DN2x, DN3x and DN4x) would also be in Zone 6 except for
those parts of DN41,42, 43 and 44 that are in Wyoming.
Zone 7 would include the parts of DN41/42/43/44 that are in Wyoming, all US
locations in DL, DM and DN with a first digit in 5/6/7/8/9, and all US
locations in EL, EM and EN with a first digit in 0/1/2/3/4.
Zone 8 would be all US locations in EL, EM and EN with a first digit in
5/6/7/8/9, and all US locations in FM and FN.
73,
Rich VE3IAY
