Allow me to second George's recommendation.  I use a standard slingshot to
get my wires 70 feet up into my trees.  I use a porcelain egg insulator for
the weight.  One time I accidentally hit a branch that was only about 6-7
feet away, and the egg insulator shattered and part came right back at me.
I'd look like Popeye now if I didn't have glasses on.  There's a reason
these things are illegal in some states like Massachusetts (but not here in
Live Free or Die New Hampshire !   Here we're left to to think on our own
without government guidance...)
