Bill -

Your comment in comparing record scores is inappropriate.  Shootouts and
records are two different scenarios.

1. HC8N in 1999 was 3 operators.  We don't have enough detail yet on that
comparison.

2. Propagation conditions were likely quite different.

3. Contester participation may have been different.

Setting new radio records cannot be compared to a horse race or a football
game, where the playing field is always fixed.

Our playing field uses the magic of radio!  Knowledge of propagation during
the contest is critical to the success of a well run operation.

In addition to all this knowledge, the team has to work together inside the
shack such that their individual skills enhance the end result.

My hat is off to these great teams!
