That's right. Something about an incident back in 1776.

A G friend once told me that if the U.S. would agree to pay the 228 years'
of back taxes (and accumulated interest) and apologize, then the Queen would
be happy to send over a Governor-general with an ostrich feather in his cap,
and let us play in the Commonwealth Contest.

Maybe if we let Gs into SS, they'll let the U.S. into the Commonwealth
Contest.

And the 1s will be able to compete in SS again...
