Read the rules, mate - IIIA, IIIB & IIIC.

No self-spotting for anyone, full stop.

A single-op does all operating, logging & spotting.  Add another person
& it becomes multi-op.  Make use of spotting nets or clusters of any
sort & it becomes assisted.

Multi-ops can make use of spotting nets or clusters & these multi-ops
can rack up some serious points for club competition.

A whole bunch of non-participants are out there, clearly using spotting
nets or clusters to find stuff they want to work.  It's folks like these
that fill the logs of all those participating in the event.

To participate, everyone should follow the rules.  To suggest otherwise
is ludicrous.

Anyone suggesting spotting nets or clusters should go might want to
rethink what it might do to multi-ops, club competition or even all
participants because of the casual guys who want to get on & work
stuff, but have an easy time of it.

And if anyone is so dead set against the assisted category, then go out
there & show your superiority by beating them if you're that good - both
the category & the nets/clusters are not going away.
