True!

I started using an ICOM 728 as a second radio, along with a simple 40m
dipole.

I now use an ICOM 746, & a FT1000mp field. I can switch between a couple of
dipoles, small yagi or vertical. The headset controls are radio shack a/b equip
selector (20 bucks), & a cheap home brew box with a couple of relays
controlling the computer cw, paddles & mic. About 30 bucks in that.

Does it compare to a good so2r setup with towers & big amps? No. But, neither
does my main rig. It does, however, allow me to move mults, & cure the sunday
afternoon blues in SS. I made 157 out of 887 SSb q's last weekend on the 2nd
rig, I'd be bored with out!
