My 2 cents on this thread :-)
Although volunteers are managing CQWW contests they can do at least what the
SINGLE MAN show is doing with CQ WPX contest !
They can publish on line list of submitted logs together with the claimed
score within few days after these are submitted.
Then after August and September issues of CQ magazine are sent to
subscribers they can in December put a full results on - line on a special
web site for everyone to see. If contesters are really just 2-3 % of all CQ
subscribers I doubt CQ will loose subscribers doing this, since from these
2 -3 % say may be at least 70 % are hams who will never subscribe for
different reasons.( lack of money, risk of magazine get lost over the post
system ,etc. )
The other option is people like Al ( 4L5A / D4B) who receive the magazine
via air mail early enough to ask someone who is capable and has more time,
to make a PDF file of the results and to put these on - line for the rest
who can not afford to subscribe. This will be greatly appreciated by many
for sure.
73, see you all in CQWW SSB in October :-).
