A more "stupid idea'" was that I had planned to operate the August NAQP
from Alaska. Fortunately, I cancelled my plane reservations on Monday (was
supposed to leave for KL7 on Tuesday). Your post confirmed I made the
right decision, albeit primarily for work related reasons.
Yup, from Attu, the westernmost point in North America, (173 degrees E,
Siberia is NE of the island!), I made a grand total of 4 QSOs...all on 20 meters in
the NAQP last week. Only record set was being the westernmost North American
station ever in the NAQP. There was no 10 or 15 and it doesn't get dark
there until 0900Z, so no 40 or 80.
