Paul,

Heaven forbid that you think I said an operator should not improve himself, 
but otherwise your response makes my point exactly, i.e., make the contact, 
break the pileup, beat someone else to the contact.  In this frame of reference 
skill is defined in competition.  I am just as competitive as anyone, and I 
understand this has a place, just not every place.
