Well, not all 'big guns' have infinite budgets. And I do have a yaesu hat,
but got that at a hamfest somewhere after standing in line with all the
other little pistols. For my station the mp and mk-v field are good
performers at a reasonable price. Maybe they aren't the absolute best
performers, but they interface well with computers, have decent receivers,
built in dsp, and are reasonably reliable. Before moving the mp's I had
mostly ts-940's but was always worried about them running, the 930 and 940
both had intermittent problems with connectors and boards that made them
less than reliable. I have never like the icom's on ssb, they sound good on
cw but at least up to the 765 and 781 the ssb filtering didn't sound very
good to me. Does Collins have a rig that is computer controlled??
