I agree. 765 and 850 (right in this order, because 850 is missing
CLEAR RIT button) are the best buys for contests in under 1000$
class.
I still have 751a because it is difficult to find matching substitute
amongst the more modern radios. IC735 was (and I think still is) also
pretty good for expeditions.  1000MP is no good for quiet locations
because there is not enough sensitivity on 15 and 10 meters.
