Not totally true...  It's true you have to be an ARRL member to access the online database.

A PDF copy of the QST results, along with line scores, is available online for FREE to everyone.
I bet if you were not online and asked they would send this to you for asking for a nominal charge
(i.e postage)

Until recently, the only way to get results for any CQ sponsored contest was to buy CQ Magazine. As
some have mentioned there are some results published online of CQ WPX and CQWW but both
web pages are at least a couple years behind.
