There is no problem at all as CEPT temporary callsigns for UK all start with 
M/ or with one more possible letter.  They may end up with /p.
The only UK problem are special occassions GB callsigns but they are rare in 
the contest.

My 1984 program parsed all callsigns into prefix and suffix part.  Suffix is 
needed for Russian zones.
Only prefix might be modified with a meaningful portable assignement.
