Having been a commercial fisherman for several years,   The proper way for
anyone who is venturing off shore 100 miles or more is a total idiot if they
are depending on 14.300 to use in case of an emergency.   There are many  HF
frequencies that can be used and  if the Vessel operator is too cheep to buy
the proper radio for those frequencies then almost all newer SSB trancievers
can be modified to work on the Authorized Marine frequencies although
illegal.   NO ONE will be cited for use of those frequencies with a non type
accepted radio in an Emergency.

14.300 is and amateur Radio authorized frequency and no one should be
required to move by the use of some useless NET that might have someone with
a problem that could better be handeled on regular marine frequencies.

This Reserve freq for some MM Net  or County Hunter or Slo-scan   is   Pure
