Thanks to all for some interesting reading.  I'll chime in with N2NL and all 
those who maintain that there is a "high road" and a "low road" in this 
question.

Doing well in Sweepstakes when your success is based on little more than 
technicalities in what are agreed now by almost everyone to be inadequate 
rules, is a shallow victory at best, and sets a poor example.
