It's not really a convention, but I couldn't come with a better single word
description.

On Saturday, January 6, are two longstanding traditions for Ohio (and other
nearby) contesters. In the afternoon K8AZ hosts an Open House at his contest
superstation, and in the evening K8MR hosts his annual Contester's Christmas
Party. Both are in the eastern suburbs of Cleveland. Tom and I would like to
invite any contesters who might be in the area, or ready for a winter trip,
to join us.

In addition, some of the diehards include morning visits to several local
businesses of interest: Amateur Electronic Supply, Electronic Surplus Inc. (the
name says it all), and Samsel Marine Supply, a hardware place that caters to
the serious Great Lakes marine trade but has lots of cool things for us
tower geeks to look at or even to buy. (Need a 1-1/2" x 48" turnbuckle? They got
'em!)

January in Cleveland is definitely off season. But if you are up for a
weekend road trip, need an extra reason to visit your Aunt Molly or your old
college roommate, or just want to show up to hang out with a bunch of active
contesters, you're welcome!

Email me for further details.

73 and Happy Holidays to all,

Jim K8MR
