Eric, while you've been away (;^)), a group under the leadership of WA7BNM has been working on developing a standard for real-time contest score reporting. The idea is that once the standards have been established, anyone can set up a scoreboard, and anyone can supply data. This would lead to contest sponsors setting up their own scoreboards, for anything from local QSO parties to CQWW and ARRL contests. N1MM Logger has already demonstrated the feasibility of this approach, using a separate application to relay data from the logging program to the scoreboard in real time, without user intervention.

I think we are all hoping that the standard will be ready for more serious and widespread implementation by this fall. I know that N1MM Logger will be ready.
