Hi Jim,

I enjoyed your blog and photos, especially your excursion into the Pantanal.
The Hyacinth Macaws caught my eye because I own one. You can see a few
pictures of all my birds here: http://k0rc.spaces.msn.com/Default.aspx

I am curious what you observed about their behavior in the wide (mine was
egg hatched by a local breeder). Were they skittish like our North American
birds of the wild? I'm used to my birds coming to me, especially to be held
and stroked.

Did you hear them calling at sunrise and sunset? Mine do this every day and
it's a terrible racket! When I have them in the aviary outside, they hear
their call echo from a hill about a quarter mile away, so they answer back,
and back, and back, and...

You captured a magnificent moment in the photo of the two flying by.

Our trip to Brasil was not only to attend WRTC. We also went on to the
Pantanal region. This latest goup of photos I've posted to the blog are some
of the shots I took in the Pantanal while at the Araras Lodge near the city
of Cuiaba in Matto Grosso state.
