This week . . the grand finale of the NCCC Thursday
Sprint Ladder Competition. Thursday 1930-2000 pdst.
See www.ncccsprint.com for rules, and by all means jump in
and join us for the last event in this frantic contest
series. If you're a newcomer, you'll be preparing for next year.

Last week had a record turnout with 31 logs submitted and
a few more stations active.

Here are the interesting races as we end the NS Ladder for
2006:

First place is uncontested in all three geographic divisions:
W9RE, N3BB and N6RO have it cinched whether they show up this
week or not.

More interesting:

In the East of Ms. River Division after 11 weeks:

2nd Place: N9CK 11261 (best 9 of 10)
3rd Place: N4AF 11178 (9 scores)
[Howie, if he participates in Wk 12, is poised to move into
2nd place, as he has a low score of 392 to drop]

4th place: N4OGW 9968 pts (8 events)
5th place: K4BAI 9884 pts (8 events)

In the NCCC division,
2nd place: K7NV 8453 (best 9); 7648 (best 8)
3rd place: N6ZFO 8318 (best 9); 7678 (best 8)

So this one is really too close to call, especially since
Kurt and I have see-sawed back and forth, probably due mostly
to different conditions between the Reno and SF areas.

Finally . . even tho this is the last week of NS Ladder,
no one need fear Thursday night contest deprivation, as Ken,
N6RO will take over next week with an innovative series of
Thursday night events that will include both major contest
practices and interspersed NS events with rules that change
week-to-week, adopting different band plans and in at least
one week, a different duration. Watch CQ-Contest and
www.ncccsprint.com weekly for details.

73 and good luck to all on Thursday

Bill n6zfo
Contest director,
NCCC Thursday Sprint Ladder.
