[CQ-Contest] Icom 746 as contesting rig

Hi John,
	Can't speak specifically about contesting w/ the 746, but several in the
area have recently purchased this rig and have expressed satisfaction with
its performance.

I strongly advise you not to discount rig control if you haven't tried it.
Almost all contest types in this area use NA by K8CC. It is so nice to have
the computer track the rig for band changes, and it makes QSying so easy.
It is also great to have your log marked w/ exact freq for each qso, and
have it deduped and sent to the contest sponsor less that 5 minutes after
the contest. You can build a generic 
CT-17 interface to drive the Icoms for less than $15, or you can buy one on
ebay for $20-$30. Once  you try it, you won't consider running without it.
