This is the first time I hear about the existance of the Sanctioning
Committee. What is it's origin? What are the goals and powers? Who and how
has appointed it's members? Is this something similar to International
Olympic Committee?
Just wonder...

Subject: [CQ-Contest] Potential Hosts for WRTC #6

22 July 2006

We've just concluded a successful and exciting WRTC2006. We owe a big
debt of thanks to the Brazilian contest and DX community for expending
so much of their time and effort on WRTC. Obrigado, Portuguese for
"thank you," is the very least we can say on behalf of all the
competitors, referees, and visitors.

>From 2006, we must turn to the future. The WRTC Sanctioning Committee
is now accepting applications to host the next WRTC in 2009 or 2010.
If your organization is considering being a host to WRTC, now is the
time to make your interest known.

To initate the process of application, please send a Letter of Intent
to any WRTC Sanctioning committee member. It does not need to be a
detailed proposal. The Letter of Intent begins the process of
application. The letter should include:
- The identity of the host organization
- Officers of the organization
- Proposed time frame of event
- Proposed location of event

When your Letter of Intent is received, the WRTC Sanctioning Committee
will then provide some basic information about WRTC events that will
help you prepare an initial proposal. The Letter of Intent must be
received by a Sanctioning Committee member on or before September 8,
2006.

We look forward to hearing from you and will help you define your
event so that it carries the spirit and goals of WRTC forward.

73,
WRTC Sanctioning Committee
