[CQ-Contest] Contest Rig

A while back there was some discussion on Contest rigs. The following rigs were considered as contest worthy radios:
FT-1000D, FT-1000MP, FT-1000MP MkV, FTdx9000D
TS-850S, TS-850SAT, TS-930S, TS-950SDX
IC-765, IC-7400, IC-756PROIII, IC-7800
Ten-Tec Orion
Elecraft K2

Two questions:
Nothing was mentioned about the SDR-1000. What about that radio, anybody using it?

The fact of getting the "Original" FT-1000MP was brought out over and over. Making me think something is wrong with the
FT-1000MPMKV. Is there?
