This is not a dumb question, it is a GREAT question!

Section 3.2 covers it pretty well (from the ARRL Web page).

I received a query from a station that was confused and this is what I sent
him.

(Part of query) - How do you do MO2R in SS when the rules read only one
transmit signal at any time ????????

signed very confused
steve

(Answer)- Hi Steve,
Don't be confused, we only have one transmit signal, the transceivers lock
out each other via a hardware interface. When one is transmitting the other
one can't. No intent or breaking of the rules. MO2R may not be the right
phrase, but it is multi op and 2 radios. BTW the logging networking didn't
work so we only used one radio, hope to have it all fixed by phone SS. I
have had extensive contact with ARRL about this and they say it's all OK,
many stations are doing it. (And several stations are transmitting two
signals at the same time and have and are going to be disqualified for it.)

We are aware of the rules and we only transmit ONE signal at a time.
Hope this takes out the confusion, have a great week-end and get ready to
work us next week-end.

I guess the bottom line is - if you have a question, call the contest
sponsor, they will take the time and disuss the situation and give you
feedback. Yes's and no's, do's and don't do's, etc.

The SS rules say that spotting assistance is allowed for multi-ops. Does
this mean general use of the packet cluster, or an op on a second radio?

Sorry for the dumb question.
