This idea is also valid because the contesting authority can verify license issue date but no longer has access to year born.

BTW, I have been following this thread as a casual contester.  I got into contests because very often the DX is only on during contests and they are willing to dig for my peanut whistle signal (especially on Sunday afternoon).  It is exciting to work a far away station and the excitement carries over to the contest itself.  With VHF & UHF the "DX" might be two counties away (whoopee..) so the excitement of DX is missing leaving only the contest itself to attract and keep prospective contesters.  Not to mention that it takes a very high end station (compared to most entry level Hams' equipment) to work that contact that you probably have breakfast with on Saturday morning.
