 Announcing S.O.D.C.R.O.W.S. ...............................................
S.O.D.C.R.O.W.S., The (S)ociety (O)f (D)istributed (C)ontesting (R)emote (O)perators (W)ith (S)ynchronicity, proudly announces the organization's formation.

A primary objective of S.O.D.C.R.O.W.S. is the advancement of amateur radio communications practices pursuant to FCC policies and rules, with a focus on Distributed Remote Contesting ("DRC"). A "SODCROW" could be interpreted to be an earthbound (SOD) being who connects/interfaces with remote equipment via electronic flight (CROW).

The first major project by team members will be what some might term "The Mother of All Multi-Multi-Multi Contest Stations" (henceforth known as "M/M/M's"). The first M/M/M will consist of a "Distributed Contesting Network" of 14 SuperStations to be strategically located in the following areas:

1. USA East Coast

2. USA West Coast

3. The Caribbean

4. South America

5. Western Europe

6. Eastern Europe

7. The Azores

8. East Africa

9. Persian Gulf

10. Central Asia

11. SE Asia

12. Japan

13. Mid-Pacific Ocean

14. South Pacific Ocean (*) Optional - May be Asia/Africa location

S.O.D.C.R.O.W.S. has negotiated a cooperative arrangement with the NSA to piggy-back on the new L.A.S.S.I.E. (L)ow (A)ltitude (S)atellite (S)urveillance (I)ntelligence (E)nvelope system, which initial operating specs indicate will yield a Global inter-communications low latency factor between all operators and stations to be less than 1ms.

At a location yet to be announced, the S.O.D.C.R.O.W.S. "Central Command & Control" QTH nerve center will coordinate the integration of all stations with individual member operators, each other and all remote stations. Large state-of-the-art plasma screen viewing via realtime webcams from all participant operator postions in synchronicity is a highlight of the system.

Since the team members will be able to operate any of the S.O.D.C.R.O.W.S. stations remotely from home, bars, hotel rooms or any other locations, the possibilities of 28 different station/operator locations in the Global Network will be the first major M/M/M of it's kind within the amateur radio Contesting Community.

A final decision has not yet been made about the availability of the S.O.D.C.R.O.W.S. M/M/M system for Distributing Remote Contesting Rental Virtual QTH ("DRCRVQ") purposes.

For more information, stay tuned.
