Speaking of quads.  Several years ago the ARRL presented an article on a 5 
band (I think?) quad in which all driven elements were fed together with 
open wire transmission line.  A tuner was used in the shack for matching 
purposes. FB was adjusted for each band using a tuning stub on each 
reflector.

The author was totally satisfied with the performance of that system.  Has 
anyone since tried the same configuration, and if so, how well do you think 
it performed?  By that I primarily mean, 'Do you think it worked as well 
(gain, FB) as a quad fed with separate coaxial feeds for each band?'
