One of the things that could hurt the vertical effort, may be the local noise level. One may want to have a back up plan.. that could be as simple as simply running a long piece of coax out.... I know..heavy... but think shielded and quiet. If the site is overwhelmed in noise on the vertical, keep it, use the coax as a second.
A slightly different antenna that may work with less fuss, is a 40 or so foot high vertical radiator, with top installed guying insulated low guy lines. Four do fine, then at the bottom of the vertical, an omega match consists of a pair of capacitors, vacum type if you run power, The caps allow you to match exactly to the feedline, with a wattmeter at the antenna, on 160 - 80 - 40. No lossy coils.
On the beach where the ground losses are low... this antenna would shine very nicely. The majority of losses are simple ground loss. In Wy, you would need at least 32 radials, on the beach.... one... maybe two.
