"I just have to finally weigh in on this. Ev, it seems to me that you are
making an issue out of a non-issue, and should give it a rest.
We all know that the RST system, and especially exchanging 59 or 599 in a
contest is essentially meaningless. Who cares about signal report data in
contest files, anyway? Certainly not me, and it ain't worth the bandwidth or
brain cells to harp on it.
FWIW, and nothing personal.

I couldn't agree more.............
News bulletin: The world is not a perfect place!
And, while we should discuss and improve those things that really matter,
common sense, hopefully, should apply in maintaining some sense of balance.
Instead, I think we should acknowledge and thank, once in a while, all those
who are involved behind the scenes in sponsoring the contests, log checking,
contest software writers, the various contest reflectors, updating contest
software files, etc. that make this happen for the rest of us.
For the most part, they do it as volunteers and spend endless hours in the
process.
I, for one, am weary of some of the almost endless nit-picking on certain
topics. Yes, you have the right to express your concerns but some of this is excessive
by any measure.
Maybe some of this energy could be used in making a positive contribution.
Now, there is a new concept.
BTW, it amazed me how little effort it took to adjust my Stew Perry log to
fit the required format.
