I wanted to write:
In Finland self-spotting is openly discouraged also for VUSHF contests.
We had a couple of incidents a few years back, but now again the people
are making the QSOs on VHF, not over the internet and claim the QSOs to
contest logs.

All it took was the contest directors gave a few public speeches and
wrote a few writings in Finnish Radioamatoori magazine.

Then I reviewed this week's Tuesday evening spots.
There was one or there were two Finns using spotting network for
confirming QSO and announcing obviously their own CQ.

I need to bring up the matter again with the VUSHF contest director.

The nature of the radio events is the contacts are made over the radio.
In case contact related information is transferred for example over
traditional phone call, Skype, MSN, email, spotting network or anything
else than the radio, the entrant should be discouraged from doing that.

Nevertheless, I was happy to notice the top 10 of Finns do not use the
spotting network for QSOs.
