Thanks to everyone who got on for the GQP despite the so-so conditions. From the rover perspective
this was really fun. The pileups were unbelievable for W4AN/m. Near the end in Coffee County I think
we made 90 QSO's in the 20 mins we were in that county ! John, K4BAI, will be posting our score to
3830 soon but our preliminary count was something close to 2K QSO's.

I am also interested in signal reports compared to the others that were rovering. Since the FQP last year
I have been using the DX Engineering top hats (Hot-Rodz) on my Hustler RM-xx resonators. For 20 meters we are using the RM-15 resonator with a 4 spoked (each 6 inches long) top hat. For 40 meters the antenna was a RM-20 resonator with 6 spoke (each 24 inches long) top hat. See http://my.att.net/p/s/community.dll?ep=331&folderid=269968&groupid=352456&folderview=thumbs&ck= for some pictures of the mobile setup. From the results we are getting they seem to be performing very well. Right now I am just using one
resonator at a time but plan to expand that to two in the future so we don't have to stop to chnage bands. Note I use the short mast (in the pictures) to store the 40 meter antenna because it is to big to put inside the car when it's not being used.

See you Michigan guys next weekend in MQP. John and I are also thinking about going out for FQP in a couple weekends...
