[CQ-Contest] I've heard it all now!

The 2nd harmonic thing is very real. In years past I have personally heard some of the big guys on 160M as loud as S8 on the meter exactly double their TX frequency on 160M. You go down to 160M and find them 40-50 over S9. Haven't listened lately but sure if you had listened between 3600 and 3690 this past weekend you would have heard a lot of CW that was fundamentally on 160M.
Direct e-mails between a friend of mine and one who had a very stong 2nd harmonic indicated some work would be done to further reduce the attenuation and no doubt it has been done by now.
An humerous example of a second harmonic situation that some may remember...I think it was perhaps the last ARRL DX Contest when a ZF2 had a HUGE pileup on 40M, answering almost no one. When he did go back to someone, you could not hear the guy he was working He was spotted on packet, I think was working single band 80M, and was S9 on 40M in Arkansas. Easy multiplier we thought.... It was by far the largest pileup on the band and he was calling CQ on 80M with few takers since it was late in the contest and he had worked almost everyone on that band.
