Go for it. However, please note that you're not exactly breaking new ground
here.

My personal favorite for "honest" and "real" signal reports in contests was
KH6CC now sadly a silent key. Real and honest signal reports in the 160M
contests were all he knew. The sad part is I doubt that any of his contacts
- who just blew by the fact that he gave them a 559 or whatever - ever got
busted score-wise for failing to accurately record what he sent. So send
whatever you want the real question is whether it matters at all on the
scoring/adjudication end. If you send me a 579 and I record the default 599
will I be penalized? That sir, is the question.

Personally, I like the Stew Perry Topband Distance Challenge in terms of
"meaningful" exchanges. If only all contest exchanges and scoring schemes
were so well formulated.
