I keep two flavors of loggers on my computer.

For general log keeping I use Logger32. It's sort of ugly, the programming
conventions aren't very "conventional", but it works, I have several
hundred-k QSO's in it's care, and the author supports it. Probably a lot of
other better "GP" loggers out there, but hey, this one fits like an old
shoe, and does my paperwork for me. That's all I ask.

That's why I'm "attached" to Logger32.

For contest logging I "grew up" on "CT". Stuck with it through many
versions, because it simply "works" --- did what needed doing without fuss
or bother, and was utterly dependable. When it finally became almost
impossible to remain on a "serial port centric" DOS based program without a
dedicated "contesting-only" computer, I started casting about for something
that most closely resembled the user-interface of CT. I settled on
WriteLog. From an operator standpoint, it "looks and feels" like CT more
than any other I've tried. It has built-in or third-party contest-specific
modules for about anything you'd want to throw at it, and even a
wizard-facility so you can "grow your own" contest. Again, you might say it
fits like an old familiar shoe, and does my paperwork for me with minimal
fuss and bother. That's all I ask.

That's why I'm "attached" to WriteLog.

Both of them took a little poking and prodding to integrate into my
station/computer-hardware configuration, but now that they're glued into
place, they're seamless --- just turn it on at 2355Z Friday and I'm ready to
play. No need to fumble with a different logger-du-jour depending on what
weekend this is. If there are any events out there that it won't support,
I'm not inclined to google up YALP (yet-another-logging-program) to cover
me for the weekend. I'll just skip that event.
