W5CPB got a FCC 'pink ticket' from the Grand Island NE intercept station 
back in the 1930s for having a RAC signal and in my case, at least, it meant 
rectified AC. On receipt of those notices you had to describe what was done 
to correct the problem. If your transmitter was a self excited oscillator it 
could be tough to get both 'power' and a clean signal.  XTAL control did 
wonders for cleaning up the bands.  -  73  Jim  w3cp
