[CQ-Contest] WPX RTTY quirk

If memory serves, this contest started up under the Digital Journal or
perhaps even before that before it went under CQ.

At any rate, back then some felt that either 30 hrs was plenty of time to
work everyone ( and back then it might have been at least partially true) or
they didnt want to have to stay awake more than 30 hours in a weekend! Also
some were under the disception that a longer contest would benefit the
larger stations disproportionately. I never understood that logic and
lobbied for at least 36 of 48. That went nowhere. I just hate all the
sitting around taking forced breaks for an hour here, an hour there. My
breaks this weekend were no more than 2.5 hrs long until I was done at 1830Z
on Sunday.

Subject: [CQ-Contest] WPX RTTY quirk

While reading through the RTTY WPX stories on 3830, something jumped out at
me.

CQ WPX RTTY has single ops work 30 out of 48 hours.
CQ WPX CW and Phone has single ops work 36 out of 48 hours.

Just wondering why the difference?

(You may recall the CW and Phone events used to be 30/48 long ago.)
