Of course, it's not really "SOS", it's "dididitdahdahdahsididit" (it's its own character - no spaces)
Just a trivial point from someone who's been spending the day at work copying and pasting trivial stuff into a trivial Word document...at least I'm getting paid for it.

I hope that I may be forgiven for pointing out that on 1 July 1908,
100 years ago today, 'SOS' was adopted as the globally recognised
distress call for ships at sea.
